Legend of the Void

legendofthevoid

Now this game is quite old. But let me say that this game is worth playing. I love classic RPG games! You, the player, can choose 3 types of characters. A rogue, Knight or Mage. Each play differently so be careful which one you choose. Choose one that really fits your playstyle.

The game follows the old style of playing RPGs, and that’s turn based. If you have played the old Final Fantasy games or Breath of Fire, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. It is heavy on quests. It is also linear. So that means you wont get lost or wander off to the wrong direction.

The game can be very easy if you know exactly what skills you want to use. That is whats important in the game. Find what is necessary to your play style. you can experiment, but that may harm your progress in the game. Play it guys, Its worth your time. Its a series, you can play Legend of the Void 1 and 2 in Kongregate.com.

Flip and Go

flipandgo

Good casual games are hard to find. Most tend to be quite too simple or boring that they are not worth your time. Flip and Go, isn’t. It may be simple, but it is definitely is unique. This extremely fun flash game plays like any adventure platform like Mario. but the cool thing about this game is that you can switch the stage.

Flip what? Yes, you can flip the stage to accomplish each stage. Each stage is a puzzle and your goal is to complete the puzzle. But is it challenging? yes it is. Some stages require timing and constant switching. The main goal in this game is to reunite the little critter with his girlfriend.

The controls are simple just like the graphics. If you have played adventure platform/puzzle games before, then playing this game is like second nature to you. It has a touching theme in it. the game is obviously aimed for a younger audience. Yo will love it. I did.

The King’s League: Odyssey

It has been a while since I posted. Blame it on the Neverwinter Online and Contract Wars. They’ve been keeping me from writing new updates. I did play other fun and cool casual games.

My current favorite is the strategy/arena The King’s League: Odyssey. I first saw this game through a video review at playbuzz.org. It looked like an awesome flash game to play and so I did.

The King’s League: Odyssey is a sequel to the hugely-popular The King’s League by Kurechii. Check out this trailer.

An attempted murder on the King has led to the death of Whitney, the Royal Knight. In search of a worthy person to take up the role as a Kurestal Knight, a new league is announced. Fight your way from the humble Hamlet Tourney till the King’s League for a seat at the Kurestal Round Table.

I finished the game after about an hour of playing. The early rounds can be a little hard, especially if you’re still trying to get the hang of how the game works. But once you progress to higher levels, you’ll start to understand how the game operates.

Check it out now! You’ll surely love this game.

Lone Survivor

Horror casual games are not usually my cup of coffee. Maybe because I cower easily. I still remember the first Silent Hill when I was a kid and that game literally scared the shit out of me. And now what we have here is a game called Lone Survivor. This game is tough but fun as hell.

You play as the lone survivor. Alone in a world decimated by creatures, you struggle to find for any survivors. The game’s graphics are great because I just love pixel based games. Controls are easy because it is a side scrolling game.

The combat however is simple. Once you acquire a firearm, you can shoot with the X key. Sadly, the game provides you with one quite. So you must resort in hiding in dark spots and using the flash light int he right time. This isn’t a pure action horror game, instead its a pure horror adventure game.

It has a bit of RPG in it, since you can interact with NPC and objects and use them in different situations. Speaking of using objects you can also use rotten meat to distract monsters. Yes, they have a keen sense of putrid smell.

So check this game out. Its fun and scary!

Exploration Gameplay

Fezflashgame

Fez is out! In Xbox360! Wooh! I’m getting my hands on that. For those of you who don’t know what Fez is please search in on the net. Its an incredible game that is particularly aimed for casual and hardcore gamers. The game lets you explore hidden areas to help create the world around you.

I want to give away more but that would be more like a review now would it? Haha. So lets get back to the topic. Exploration. Casual gamers play to either just beat a stage or just to kill time. But Fez gives more than just that to the casual gamer. It enables him to strive for that hidden area.

That feeling of being an explorer can rally drive a gamer to play the game over and over. Just like  MMORPGs. The feeling of exploring vast plains and huge mountains was feeling I enjoyed when I first played MMOs. Exploration game play is now for me, one of the key elements of making a casual game a success.

Pixels and Low Res graphics obsolete?

If there is anything in this world that is evolving fast its games. I remember the time whenever I play a flash game, all I see are pixels and simple 2D cartoon textures. But these days, I still do, however they don’t get as much credit as they did before.

Now we have Unity 3D. And damn am I impressed. Go play Contract Wars! Come one. Do it. You will be impressed. And if the game play wont impress you, it will be on how flash games has totally evolved. There is just no more room for mediocrity in this age of games. And it should be like that. I’m not saying I hate pixels (I love pixel games), but what I want is an end to mediocre games .

No more mediocrity! Maybe soon or after a few years , we might see a flash game that plays like COD (chuckle). We never know. But I assure you it will happen.

Daily Casual Game Roundup 15

After my long list of top HTML5 games available today, I kinda lost appetite of casual games. (Opps.) So I get played some core games: Diablo 3 and World of Tanks. I’m now a Level 30 Monk and commandeering an M18 tank in WoT.  Tired of core games, I’m back to casual games.

Today, I found some really cool casual games featured on my favorite websites. Here they are!

1.  Infiltrator

Infiltrator is a retro-looking shooter game. The back story: Your McGuffin, some kind of object to hold the story together,  has been stolen by robots. Intelligence reports suggest that it’s hidden in a secured base. Your mission is to retrieve the McGuffin…at all costs.

2. Medieval Shark

Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! 500 years before the infamous Miami Shark was born, lived the dreaded Medieval Shark…

Judgement day is upon us, as the prophecy foretold. The master of death has come to claim the world. But only a child fears dragons, a real threat emerges from the depths. Only he, a man, a shark, a sharkman can save us. Is he our savior or are we just dinner? A jaw of 1000 teeth in King Arthur’s court will determine our fate. Castles will be destroyed, lives will be forfeit, death has met his match. Long live the king.

3. Flightless

This is an upcoming Nitrome game and is only a demo. If you’ve read my posts before, you should know how I love Nitrome games.

After a couple of minutes playing Flightless…I can’t wait for it!

4. Submachine 8

Submachine 8 is a little weird game. It’s not the usual puzzle game you’ll find on the net. Honestly speaking, it took me a couple of minutes before I understand the mechanics. Try it now!

5. Netbots

Netbots is a fun puzzle game. The challenge is to connect netbots together according to the required configuration displayed your dashboard. It’s one cute game.

Samurai & Ninja Games

I heard that the live action adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin (watch trailer here) will premiere on October 17, 2012.  That’s an awesome news to an anime & manga fan like me. Some of my favorite samurai and/or ninja movies are Sword of Doom, Seven Samurai, Kazumi, The Twilight Samurai and Basilisk.

By now, you must have a clear idea of what I’m going for here…a list of some of samurai and ninja games that I just played. It’s more of a roundup but more specific.

Some of free online ninja samurai games (click this) aren’t really that good. So I have to scour gaming websites to find the coolest. It was fun!

Let’s get started.

1. Straw Hat Samurai and  Straw Hast Samurai 2 is an action-adventure flash game. Your goal is to slash your way across hundreds of enemies.

3. Ninja Painter 2 - This is more of an action puzzle game than a fighting one. Your task is to paint the temple with the right colors.

4. Life or Death - I love playing this game because of the cool moves that your character does when he tries to deflect the bullets. Yes, a samurai deflecting bullets!

5. Ninja Mushroom - Another puzzle game that I’m sure you’ll enjoy. You control a cute ninja mushroom who has to find his way out of the forest.

6. Final Ninja - I mentioned before how I love Nitrome games. This one is an adventure slinger game.

Daily Casual Game Roundup 14

Time for another round of games!

1. Somewhere in England 1928

This game is the offspring of detective-point&click and 8-bit graphics…and just like its parents are, it’s awesome! I don’t want to spoil the game so go ahead and kill those monsters….opps.

2. Toss the Turtle

It’s easy to figure out the whole point of the game with just the title and the picture. This is one bloody game. Launch the turtle as far as you can! There are boosters along the way; if you’re lucky, you’ll bump into them and increase the distance covered.

3. Stunt Rider

While the gameplay and graphics of this game aren’t memorable, it wins on the back-story. You play as a retired bike rider. A newbie thinks he’s better than you. Get on your bike and show that you’re the best stunt rider to ever walk on Earth.

4. Psyline

Psyline is a unique puzzle game. Your goal is to transport the orb to the game. The orb is attracted to the a path called “psyline”. Draw this line across the maze to transport the orb.

Daily Casual Game Roundup 13

It’s Friday and I’m happy that new seasons of my favorite sitcoms just premiered. I did mention that I love watching sitcoms last time, right?

Wait. I sounded like I’m not that excited with the fact that it’s FRIDAY! Woohoo!

So here’s some awesome games that you NEED to play to get to that weekend vibe.

1. Almost Impossible

A minimalist puzzle game that will test your dexterity with the mouse.

This is a really exciting game…I had to stomp my feet on the dash back to the check point. It was that exciting!

2. Earn to Die

Drive your car and crush every zombie that crosses your path.

3. Hue Brix

Fill the puzzle grid with color by dragging the colored boxes across the area. Each box has a specific number of grids that it can fill.

4. Jacksmith

Play as a donkey blacksmith and craft the best weapons for your warriors. Design the weapons like the sword, bow and axe and equip the soldiers that will clear the monsters of your path.
